ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:

Test, inspect, and troubleshoot electrical apparatus. Good communication skills with clients, peers and management are essential. May be in charge of large projects that require good supervisory and organizational skills. Individual in this position must be able to operate all types of test equipment and have some experience in coordination of electrical systems. Position may require concentration on several projects and activities at once. Position requires limited supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shall have a good theoretical understanding of the electrical field and be able to write detailed reports with few changes.

Requires special skills in testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems. Individual should have special skills in instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing, circuit breaker testing and a good aptitude for problem evaluation.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR FIELD ENGINEER:

1. Education / Experience

- BSEE or BSME Graduate engineer and no experience, or

- Graduate of electrical technical school or military equivalent and 3 years minimum of same or similar type work, or

- High school diploma or equivalent, and 4 years minimum of same or similar type work.

2. Valid driver's license.

3. Must be willing to work flexible hours and weekends, if required.

ELECTRICAL TEST TECHNICIAN

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide support to field operations; perform physical tasks relating to testing of electrical apparatus. Perform other assignments as required. Position requires moderate supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizes and maintains shop area. Responsible for support equipment and maintain shop supplies. Perform test and inspections on the following equipment: low voltage circuit breakers, ground systems, motor control centers, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage cables, ground fault systems, and two-winding transformers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR TECHNICIAN:

1. Education/Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent, and 1 year similar work experience

- Graduate of electrical technical school or military equivalent.

2. Valid driver’s license.

3. Familiarity with electrical terminology required.
